CASE STUDY
The estate of artist Mirko Basaldella needed a tool to satisfy the growing needs of the foundation that is responsible for the study, exhibition and maintenance of thousands of works, ranging drawings and pastels, to oil paintings and gigantic sculpture. The only existing tool when ImageLeap came into the picture was a hand-written card catalogue.

We photographed over 1200 artworks of all dimensions and materials, scanned more than 1250 original black and white photographs, created a tracking method and several interlocked databases, producing a final catalogue with 2500 artworks on a single CD disk.

The Foundation now has a central knowledge base to administer its activities. They have an onsite tool to register circulation, loans, exhibitions. They can provide art historians studying Mirko’s work with comprehensive visual and factual documentation. They can produce targeted catalogues, inventory lists with pictures, single artwork information sheet, and loan forms. And they are a short step away from developing an interactive CD-rom for publication and a website for general consumption.
